Legislative Status: July 26, 2007

One Summary of the Tax-Exempt hearing in the House of Representatives:  As expected, the Oversight Subcommittee of the House Ways and Means Committee held a hearing on Wednesday on tax-exempt charitable organizations. 

 

TwoComments requested by the House of Representatives on Tax-Exempt Provisions in the Pension Protection Act of 2006 – NEW DEADLINE:  As you may recall, the House Ways and Means Committee is seeking comments on the tax-exempt portions of the Pension Protection Act (PPA).  The deadline for submissions, which was originally July 31st, has been extended to August 7th.

Towards this end, you may find helpful a summary of the changes included in the Pension Protection Act (PPA) of 2006 and related legislative proposals.  This summary was prepared by the Joint Committee on Taxation.  For additional summaries of the tax exempt portions of the PPA, please email us at chris@acreform.com

If your organization is affected by any of the provisions in the PPA, we encourage you to submit comments.  To submit comments electronically, click here and please also copy chris@acreform.com as we are compiling comments from members and transmitting them to the committee to ensure that all comments are received.
